Brenden and Co.

Here's a few favorites from our shoot a couple of weeks ago.

Sonya is an awesome hairstylist who works on celebrity hair! If you need a hairstylist, let me know, I'll see if I can refer you to her. ;)

You might recognize Brenden when he was 3 months old on our website. Well, Sonya wanted to get her family portraits done as he just turned 9 months! Wow how time flies!

This is a reminder to live each day as if there is no tomorrow.

Seattle!

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been out of town in Seattle for a few weddings. I promise I'll be back with some interesting content soon enough.

But to update, Seattle is rainy and cold. I miss it in Southern California.

Life is great, but married life is even better.

Malibu Beach

Janet and I had to go to Thousand Oaks today, so on the way back home we took a detour through Malibu for some fun in the sun. I brought out the camera and we had a blast just shootin away! Here's a few cool shots ...

Warm and fuzzy

I was trying to find an old email from a friend of mine on Outlook when I ran into this warm and fuzzy email I received from Kimberly after we photographed her family earlier this year.

Dearest Tony and Joseph,

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Everyone that I've shown the photos to have said wonderful things about the work you two did. The photos are gorgeous. But aside from the photos, the most important part was that it's been a long time since my family has gotten together to do a shared activity. We used to do a lot of things when we were kids- a luxuries that only now at 25 and in 20/20 hindsight- I can recognize to be precious. But as my sister and I become adults and the fruits of my parents' labor are ripening (me going to law school, my sister headed to pharmacy)- it is harder to find those precious moments of just having plain ol' family fun. Kinda sad but it's just how things are...

My parents had a blast. They said you guys were really nice and that you guys made them feel comfortable. If anything I know that the family together just laughing over silly things like a pose was something to warm their hearts. You definitely would not have found that in a typical photo studio.. that was exactly what I was searching for through you guys.

Okay- I just wanted to thank you guys. There are certain emotions that cannot be expressed in words. There are only 26 letters to formulate specific combinations. Music, art, and- in this case- photographs exude much more. Thank you for allowing my family to have this special moment.

God bless.
Yours,
Kimberly

**[There were other parts of the email that were logistical which I will not bore you with, but you get the gist ;)]

This is the EXACT reason why Joe and I love to do what we do, plain and simple.

Here's a photo that Joe took to capture the portrait session models hard at work.

Wedding Polaroids

For those of you who don't know, It has been a little over a month being married. I must say, married life has been awesome. Janet is the most amazing person in the world and it helps that she's also the most beautiful woman inside and out. ;)

We wanted something to give our guests at our wedding, so we decided to go with the medium format polaroid. It was stuffed in a hand made [by Janet of course] wax sleeve with our names and a ribbon attached to the front.

Here's what we used:

-Overhead projection background w/ sheer cloth draped over it
-2-3 stools for the guest/s to sit on
-Medium Format Polaroid 600SE [Mamiya Universal]
-Fuji Film 3.25x4.25 Polaroid Film
-Two Speedotron Heads w/ umbrellas
-A trusty friend that knows how to push a button on a camera

The total cost comes out to about $400 with about 230 polaroids.

Anjelah Johnson

Earlier this year Joe and I had the opportunity to take photographs of a very very funny woman. She's most popular for her "nail salon" skit you may have seen on youtube. Not only is she funny and beautiful, but she has a great personality and is very active in her local church. It was also so easy for us to snap away cause everything she did looked awesome! We hope to catch one of her shows here in LA soon.
